I’m humbly feeling honored to share this message on behalf of the Alumni association, University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC). UCSC, being a premier higher educational institute providing computing degrees in the university education system is Sri Lanka, we as the alumni association, takes it as a serious commitment in playing our part within the institution focusing on pillars of activities such as;

• Cultivate a thriving network for mutual growth
• Empower UCSC through academic and non-academic support
• Enhance industry opportunities for undergraduates and graduates
• Provide career guidance for undergraduates
• Elevate UCSC’s reputation and community impact
• Strengthen student welfare initiatives
• Foster growth in IT industry and academia

During the recent years, the alumni had its own difficult times for being effective in executing its activities due to the pandemic season and the recession the society was running through. Despite these challenges, I’m proud to see a skilful set of past graduates who have excelled in both the academia and the industry, joining the committee in resuming its journey. On 31st May 2024, ending an interim period for laying the foundation for a new start, the alumni hosted a grand Annual General Meeting, where the newly appointed committee stared its journey for the year 2024/25. The committee is promised to be busy with not only to foster the alumni and student affairs, but also to become a strong unit that uplifts technology alignment for the development of the Sri Lankan society.
